Psyllium Fiber - Soluble and Insoluble

Gentle and effective, the soluble fiber from the husks helps absorb and eliminate cholesterol, fats and toxins that accumulate in the colon. The insoluble fiber from the seeds provides the bulk needed to promote peristaltic action and eliminate waste while allowing for improved absorption of nutrients. 

Cleansing and Elimination Process

The intestines function as the body?s own waste disposal system. Food in liquid form flows from the small intestine into the colon for final processing. Here most of the water and minerals are reabsorbed, leaving the semi-solid waste that is evacuated through the rectum.

History and Background

Psyllium is a member of the Plantaginaceae plant family, also referred to as Plantago. Long considered a common perennial weed found virtually around the world, it has been used for centuries in the Americas. Externally, natives made a mash of the plant and used it to draw out thorns, splinters and snake venom. Internally, natives used it to treat stomach complaints.
